Meet Dr. Sona Ramdath, Jr.

Dr. Ramdath Jr, has worked in the Volusia County Area since 2011 and  founded Ankle and Foot Sports Medicine Institute in 2019 to provide excellence in sports medicine with a focus on reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.

Ramdath received his doctorate of podiatric medicine from Barry University School of Medical Sciences in Miami Shores, Florida, and completed his residency at the Department of Veterans Affairs Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in Miami, Florida. Next, Dr. Ramdath completed a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at Palo Alto Medical Foundation in California, with a mini Fellowship in Germany and England.

Outside the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their two wonderful children. A passionate soccer enthusiast, Dr. Ramdath is a lifelong fan of Liverpool FC, and he relishes relaxing moments spent at the beach, soaking in the sun and the serene environment.

Meet Dr. Larry Suecof, DPM, CWS, FACFAS

Ankle and Foot Sports Medicine Institute is pleased to welcome Dr. Larry Suecof to our practice. Dr. Suecof began practice in Hartford, Connecticut and was the Chief of Podiatric Surgery and the Chief of Lower Extremity Limb Salvage Service at Hartford Hospital from 1982 until 2008. He was also the Educational Director at St. Francis/Mount Sinai 3-year residency program also in Hartford Connecticut from 1990 until 2001. He was a clinical instructor and in Orthopedics ( Podiatric Surgery) at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine/John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington Connecticut from 1996 until 2008.

Dr. Suecof began practice in Florida in 2008 and was Chief of the Advent Health Orlando downtown campus Inpatient limb Salvage from 2008 through 2014 after which he performed the same services for Advent Health Altamonte and Apopka as well as Advent Health Waterman in Taveres, F.l

He received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree in 1979 from the Temple University School of podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency and Podiatric Surgery at the Lutheran Hospital/University Maryland Hospital in 1981 and then completed a fellowship in Lower Extremity Limb Salvage and Wound Care at Joslin clinic/New England Deaconess Hospital Center in Boston Massachusetts and started full-time practice in Connecticut in 1982. He is also completed a limited 1 year fellowship in Infectious Disease focusing on the lower extremity at Hartford Hospital in 2006.
Dr. Suecof has been the Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (DABFAS) since in both foot and ankle surgery since 1986 with multiple recertification’s since that time and he is Board Certified by the American Board of Wound Management (CWSP) which he received in 1996, again with multiple recertification’s. This board is the only one approved by the American Board of Medical Specialties and wound care. He has published multiple articles over the years both scientific and for textbooks as relates to lower extremity infection and high risk foot care.

In his 41 years of practice Dr. Suecof has performed over 20,000 in hospital/inpatient limb saving surgical procedures involving wounds of al types, bone infections, and post- wound foot and ankle
reconstruction. In addition, he is also performed over 7000 foot elective ankle and foot surgical procedures both inpatient and outpatient which include all manner of foot pathology including hammertoes, bunions, arthritic conditions of the foot as well as soft tissue surgery and heel spurs and trauma of the foot.

Dr. Suecof’s current practice with our group will include ambulatory treatment of simple and complex wounds of the foot, ankle and leg, as well as treating patients with routine and complex podiatric medical and surgical problems including high risk preventative foot care in patients with diabetes, vascular disease, neuropathy and in patients with complex systemic medical problems as they affect the foot ankle and legs. He will also be treating patients with lower extremity sports medicine issues, as well as warts, heel pain, Planter fasciitis, athlete’s foot, fungal nails, ingrown nails, as well as al medical problems as they pertain to the foot and ankle
